  • Wherever the wiki refers to the series as a whole, I have linked the word "Free!" to the Main Page since that is the only place that speaks about the series as a whole. The individual article titled, "Free!" refers to Season One just as "Eternal Summer" refers to Season Two and "Dive to the Future" refers to Season Three. The credits listed within do list information relating to the series as a whole but the plot summary pertains only to Season One, as do the categories. Also, I double checked the spelling for Ken Productions and amended. I hope you don't mind. Angelle 03:16, September 17, 2019 (UTC)

  • I am sending this to the editors who have, thus far, participated in the review. Hopefully, you will continue to do so. Below are the remaining topics for discussion, with some additions. As always, we will tackle them one by one and resolve by consensus over time. We would like to resume the review on Sept 15th so please RSVP your availability.

    TOPICS FOR REVIEW

4 - In listing VAs who voice characters as children, do we use Young XX or XX (child)?

5 - Top Nav: "Locations" or "Places and Things" since it houses more than just locations?

6 - Top Nav: Placement of High Speed! (Novel) -- separate from film, subcat to film, or both places?

7 - Affiliations graphic: On Characters page as is, On Characters page reduced, As a separate page linked?

8 - Categorization of non-series related songs ("Other Songs").

9 - Listing Episodes with seasonal numbering within Image Galleries (e.g. Episode 13 / Episode 1 Eternal Summer).

10 - Determining Magazine Scan vs. Promo Image.

11 - Use of overarching categories for visual organization of the wiki (e.g. MEDIA).

12 - Possible new subcategory: Events and Concerts?

13 - Usage of special commands implemented by Fox.

14 - Standardizing usage of external links within articles.

15 - Further additions to the CT?

    • Thanks Angelle! I have finished all my main exams and assessments with only a few small ones coming up in the next few months, so I am currently available to contribute to the wiki again :D

If you or Fox could briefly fill me in on the current status of the wiki and what needs to be worked on that would be great,  thank you ^^

Glad to see the wiki is doing well!

  • Hey Yuji!

Like Tari, I'm sure you've probably got quite a few school/uni/irl related things going on at the moment since you've been inactive for a little bit again (and it's that time of year really), however as part of Angelle's recent resubmission for bureaucrat status we'd like you to review her most recent application (there's an ongoing thread on my message wall) when you're able to, as we will only move forward with it if everyone is in agreement.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Yuji, ahead of our upcoming wiki review Angelle put together a list of topics she and I have encountered over the past few weeks that we think need to be addressed in the review. We'll need to give you guys a more thorough explanation fo what some of these involve but we thought it would be best to at least mention them so you can have some idea of what to expect:

1 - Segment templates to be implemented. Approve y/n?

2 - Unused templates to be eliminated. Approve y/n?

3 - Do HS and Uni Students belong on the Cat Tree? If so, where?

4 - In listing VAs who voice characters as children, do we use Young XX or XX (child)?

5 - Top Nav: "Locations" or "Places and Things" since it houses more than just locations?

6 - Categorization of High Speed! (Novel) -- separate from film, subcat to film, or both places?

7 - Affiliations graphic: On Characters page as is, On Characters page reduced, As a separate page linked?

8 - Use of overarching categories for visual organization of the wiki (e.g. MEDIA).

    9 - Discussion re: DISCORD

10 - Other wiki-related topics that have arisen for review.

11 - Categorization of non-series related songs ("Other Songs")

If there's anything else that you're aware of or think of between now and the review let us know so we can add it to the list ^^

  • I don't know if anyone has heard, but the Kyoto Animation Studio has caught on fire by an intentional arson attack just hours ago. At least 13 dead and 40 injured, several unconscious. Absolutely shocking and devastating. I can't imagine why anyone would do something like this.

    • The most recent reports have confirmed the death toll at 33 now, officially making it the worst massacre in post-war Japan. Absolutely devastating; I've been reading messages upon messages from other animation studios and people involved in the industry, everyone's utterly heatbroken by the whole ordeal.

Some people have come up with a good idea though to help the studio out: rather than a gofundme or other such fundraiser  (apparently a lot of Japanese people are uncomfortable with the idea of getting money for no service/product) KyoAni sell high-res digital wallpapers for roughly $2 on their site. That way the money goes directly to the studio without the hassle of having to put together shipments of physical merch on top of all the other work/stress created by the incident. (please note this isn't meant as an advertisement or anything, I just know that a lot of well-intentioned people who have seen the news about the fire have been looking for ways to help out & there are a lot of fundraisers floating around out there but none of them are official or endorsed, so I thought it might be helpful to mention this alternative for those who may be interested)

    • Ah yeah, I've read about that in the reddit posts and it's definitely a good idea to support the studio. I can't even begin to imagine how the people involved were affected, but I pray for their safety and recovery. — Yuji Otsutsuki 10:35, July 19, 2019 (UTC)

    • Ah, if you mean the official art images that I recently added to the galleries, I wasn't the one who uploaded them (it was the previous admins), but some of them are pretty cute.

  • Hey Yuji!

Tari and I were wondering if you could check out our discussion on Tari's page (also titled "style five") and maybe give your opinion as to whether we should include some of the seiyuus other prominent roles outside of the series and where we should put that info.

    Thanks!

  • Hey Yuji, I knew we shared good taste in anime. I notice from your profile that you work on the Mushishi wiki. That happens to be one of my favorite anime, too, and for so many reasons. Mostly, though, because it's an anthology of stories told well with beautiful artwork. I also think the character of Yōki aka Ginko is such a cool guy. Nice to learn more about you! • I agree, Mushishi is one of the finest anime series out there. Although I think the manga was more in-depth in terms of storytelling. Glad to know we share similar tastes :) Yuji Otsutsuki (talk) 10:37, April 24, 2019 (UTC)
